Artist Forty-Four: Lissy Elle

Why this Artist?
Lissy Elle is an amazing photographer that can bring the surreal to life.  Her photos are whimsical and magical and something to truly be admired.  She has created an entire world of her own through her artwork and this is something that I would enjoy doing someday as well.

There were so many fantastic images by this artist, it was hard to pick only a few to share but here are  some that I liked the best:

Who is this Artist?
This artist is a self-taught photographer that has been taking pictures since a very young age.  Currently located in New York but traveling around the country to take photographs, Elle is becoming more and more of a popular photographer.  She has won awards in multiple countries and has been in many publications throughout the world.  She has also had exhibitions in multiple countries.  Elle's work is spreading around the world and it won't be too long before it is all over.

What does she do?
Lissy Elle creates photographs that bring her imaginary world to life.  She shoots her images using a Nikon D90 with a 30mm or 50mm lens.  According her her website, Elle's process is to first decide on a concept, scout out a location, fill it with a model, props, and after shooting for one or two hours spend three to seven more working in photoshop and doing her other post-processing.  Elle's works are inspired by childhood and childish things, she loves exploring and bringing to life, through her photographs, things that people only see in their imaginations and she does it very successfully in my opinion.

Why she inspires me?
This photographer is inspiring to me because she isn't afraid to create whatever happens to be on her mind that day.  What do I mean by that?  I mean Lissy Elle will literally look at an object, decide she wants to create a photograph using it and do it.  There is no question or doubting herself, it's just her and her imagination.  I hope that someday I can have the same artistic umph that Elle has and make the impossible possible like she does.
