Margarita Georgiadis is one of the many female artists that I have always loved. Her oil paintings are amazing and she has a very interesting way of portraying light in her works. It only seems fitting with some of the works she creates that she is an inspiration to me.

Who is this Artist?
Margarita Georgiadis was born in Sydney Australia. She received her Bachelor of Art from the University of Sydney. She has received a very large amount of awards and has exhibited her work in countless solo and group exhibitions. She has done work for large theater productions and has also been featured in countless magazines and other press. This artist usually works in oil paint on canvas or linen and has done some amazing works.
What does she do?
Georgiadis creates her artworks using oil paint on canvas or linen. Her works play a lot with shadows and light or dark values. She has a more painterly style but uses these brushstrokes to create realistic looking figures. A lot of her works have a dark tone and abstract backgrounds surrounding the figures that she creates. This gives the images a surrealistic feel and almost brings them to life.
Why she inspires me?
The artist inspires me because of her ability to use shadows to create these amazing paintings. She knows how to create just enough contrast in light and dark values to give her works a surrealistic style while still keeping them realistic looking. I also love this artist because a lot of her subjects are women and I am planning on doing a series of women for my senior seminar exhibit. Georgiadis is an amazing artist and has really mastered the art of working in oil painting in her specific style and I am a huge fan of her works.
